Innovation in the Adoption of Health Informatics Award

TThis Canadian Health Informatics Award (CHIA) award recognizes a project team that has, through innovation and commitment, implemented an information technology (IT) project that has been successfully integrated or adopted into the health system at the community or regional level. Any new and innovative project in the Health Informatics (HI) or Telehealth community in Canada is eligible for this award.

Nominations are closed for 2015. COACH thanks all nominees and nominators.

Criteria
Nominations must specifically address all the following criteria. Nominations must be complete; incomplete nominations will not be considered.
  • The innovative approach by a project team must have been applied to a project that has been successfully implemented;
  • The innovative initiative has had a demonstrably positive impact on health delivery or outcomes (ie: improving access to care, quality of care, privacy/security, eSafety, productivity or the patient experience.) NOTE: Please submit Metrics and Quantifying Information for the project as part of the nomination;
  • The innovative approach has the ability to be replicated in other parts of the health system; and
  • The project can demonstrate successful adoption of their solution within the health care system and show sustained growth/ adoption over the period since implementation. The application should include concrete utilization metrics
Eligibility
This award is open to any project team that has implemented a new, innovative project in the last three years in the HI community in Canada.

Recognition
The 2015 award will be presented at the CHIA Awards Gala during the e-Health 2015 Conference in Toronto June 2, 2015.
